To get your server working and configured, plug it in, attack a keyboard, mouse, and monitor, and tuyrn on the power. For servers with CD-ROM bootup, make sure the CD-ROM is installed. If Floppy customization is used, make sure the Floppy disk is installed.
Administration is typically done through the X11 GUI. To get to the administration tools, after bootup:
Log in as root. Then the coputer prompts for login, type 'root' followed by pressing the [ENTER] key. All esd systems are shipped with root passwords installed. Enter the root password when prompted, followed by [ENTER].
Start X11. Once you are logged in as root, type 'startx' followed by the [ENTER] key. This will start the X11 GUI interface.
Menu Items For items configured in the built-in X11 menus, select from in the open area of the window, click on the right mouse key to get a menu, the left mouse key to select from it. If you bring up the Web browser under the User submenu, you will be placed in a users manual similar to the one you get when you use the CD in Windows.
Application Menus For some applications, menus are started from the terminal window. Move the mouse over the terminal window to type into it.
